Basingstoke, September 23, 2008 – Kofax plc (LSE: KFX), the leading provider of Intelligent Capture & Exchange solutions, today announced the award of a contract with the Hawaii Child Support Enforcement Agency, a division within the Hawaii Department of the Attorney General. The contract was awarded to Dataimage, a Utah based Platinum Kofax Partner, who will provide a distributed capture solution to digitize more than 6 million pages contained in over 110,000 existing child support case files and process and digitize new file content as it’s created or received. The solution will provide real-time access of case files to workers located in various offices throughout the Hawaiian Islands.
The Hawaii Child Support Enforcement Agency works in partnership with the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and other state and local agencies to promote the well-being of children and the self-sufficiency of families through a structured system of parental financial support. The agency’s offices are located throughout four of the Hawaiian Islands and focus on the timely and accurate delivery of child support services.
The Kofax based solution will enable the agency to process and digitize its case files, which include more than 200 different types of documents containing both structured and unstructured content. These documents, such as court orders, judgments, payment data and other information related to child support cases are currently created in a paper format or received via fax or mail and manually stored in filing cabinets. Once implemented, the new system will electronically capture the file content and make it easily accessible throughout the organization in a secure image repository.
“Our agency exists to support the needs of children, not to get mired in paperwork,
